The Panel on Plant Protection Products carries out risk assessments of chemical and biological plant protection products, and their residues in food. Norway has an extemption from EU regulations, which means that all plant protection products have to be nationally approved by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
The use of plant production products with the nematode Steinernema carpocapsae as the active organism, is not associated with negative health effects on humans. The nematode occurs naturally in Norway, but the potential for establishment and spreading is low.
