Panel on Genetically Modified Organisms

The Panel on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) carries out health and environmental risk assessments of genetically modified organisms, processed food and feed on behalf of the Norwegian Foood Safety Authority and the Directorate for Nature Management. The Panel mostly discusses applications for authorisation which are on the agenda of EFSA, and where each country in the European Economic Area (EEA) may comment during a three month period. Additionally, the Panel carries out risk assessments in connection with national applications for GMOs.
